Today is a great day here at Twin Cedar Ranch. Our boy Rupert is off to his new forever home in Calaveras County.

Poor Rupert has been in the shelter system for over 5 months and it just goes to show... if you are patient enough, the perfect home will come along.

Good luck in you new life Rupert and drop by for a visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Rupert Arrives at Twin Cedar

Rupert comes to us from the Amador County Animal Control & Adoption Center where this poor guy has been since October 1, 2011.

He was an owner surrender because they were moving and couldn't take him with them. His papers say he is 3 - 4 years old and is a Pit Bull. We think he also has some Boxer and Chow Chow in him.

His previous owners state he is house broken, good with other dogs & cats and has been around children. He was in a yard that had 4' fences and he made no effort to jump out.

When Rupert was at the shelter he was beginning to show some aggression towards other dogs and we have seen
that here at the ranch but only when he is in his kennel.
When he meets dogs one on one he seems pretty good.

Rupert is coming along nicely with his obedience training and really enjoys his time out with his trainers. He does not appear to be a high energy kind of guy and does not have any bad habits that we have seen so far.

Rupert loves to go for rides in the car and is very good in the car.

On the day that I picked him up from the shelter, I stopped for dinner on the way home. Rupert was very content to just sleep on his dog bed in the back of the pickup and did not destroy any of the beds or bark at any people as they walked by the truck.

If you would like to come out an meet this great boy, please give us a call to come out to see him! He is ready for his new home now.
