Bailey is off to his new home. That's all he wanted, just his own home where he'll be loved and cared for. He is a high energy guy that with love, training and care will thrive. He has done very well in his training, so if he gets to work he will continue to grow into a star. Good luck, Bailey and farewell in your new home!

Sept 3, 2005

Hi guys! I'm Bailey and I just got here. So far I really like this place and school. Before, I was at a big place with a whole bunch dogs and some other rude animals. The nice people there called it Amador County Animal Control. Well, they loaded me into a truck to go for a ride and the next thing I know I've got my own large kennel and people visiting me.

The boss says I'm a year old black lab male, soon to be neutered. She says I'm real friendly but need to learn some manners. Well hey, I'm a happy lab, what did they expect? But since everyone here is so nice and spending so much time with me, I think I'll go ahead and learn. Besides, it's kinda fun to be walking outside on my lead and figuring out what they want me to do. See, that's the problem sometimes... I just want to be out and do things but nobody would ever take the time to show me what I needed to do. Now that I'm finding out that if I sit nicely I'll get lots of pets and attention, guess what I'll do if you come to visit? Well if I remember, that is.

I'm learning really fast! Here you can see that I enjoy heeling! Now that I know how this works, look at the loose lead. You won't need to drag me around! My only question is, where are we going next?

And how many guys know how to lie down when asked and hold that position on only their second day?! Plus I can sit and hold that position too. Margé teaches us to hold a learned position until we're released instead of having to use an extra 'stay' command. That's no problem for me!

And I even know how to catch a fly! How about that, all you smart shepherds. Let's see you do that

So, while I love Aunt Margé and the folks here at the ranch, what I really wish for is a home and family of my own. If you are thinking about getting a partner please consider me. I've got all the love you'll ever need and lots of talent. Just come by and ask for Bailey!
