Bo Jangles

Sept 2, 2006

Here's one happy German Shepherd! Lucky Bo is off to his new home with folks that know the breed. He has a family that can keep up with him! Goodbye Bo! And be good because your owner works with the same agency as Marge... we'll be watching. No more returns for you!

Update Sept 1, 2006 - Bo is Back!

One of our favorite students has come back. His owners loved him very much and he was bonded to them. But due to circumstances beyond their control, they were very sad to return him to us to find a new home. He currently weighs 97 lbs, but is on a diet and will soon be down to his ideal weight of about 80 lbs. He is very healthy and is current on all vaccinations and on heartworm preventative

Bo has all the traits and characteristics to be expected of the GSD breed. He is very faithful and loyal to his family. Like all dogs he needs a job. Especially Bo because he is very smart and loves to work. He has done well in obedience training and greatly looks forward to each session. The more time that he spends with people the better and he will thrive in home where he is part of the family.

He would also do well competing in performance events. With a little polish he would be ready for the Rally or Traditional obedience ring.

Bo does need an experienced owner. He is very steady in temperament but can be dominant. He is also protective of his home and family and would make an excellent watch dog. But he needs his training kept current. This is most important for both the owner and dog to maintain the relationship and bond this breed is so famous for.

Here are a few current pictures of Mr. Bo:

Please call us at (209) 223-3194 or email info@twincedark9.com if you would like more information, or to come and meet Bo. He is ready to go now. We are looking for the experienced GSD owner and home that will make Bo part of the family. We will also ask that you keep Bo’s training current. Since he is a working quality dog he risks getting into trouble if he is put into a yard and ignored.

Come and meet Bo… you won’t be disappointed!

Here's Mr. Bo Jangles! He's a beautiful sweet guy. Bo came to us ready for a new life. He spent the last three years in a pen with nothing but a five gallon plastic pail of water and a bucket of Ole Roy dry dog food. That's it, nothing else. When he came it looked like he'd been rolling in motor oil! But true to his breed and most dogs, he was still trusting and ready to be friends.

The first order of business was a complete bath and scrubbing! Phew, he needed it. And not too surprising he truly enjoyed his bath. Or maybe it could have been he was finally getting some attention? Probably both, but even Margaret was surprised at the handsome guy that emerged up from under all the gunk! He has a lovely thick black coat that shines in the sun! He also has the lines and conformation of good German Shepherd breeding and comes from the same lines our previous resident, Gunner.

Right away, Bo started his training. Again, he just soaked up the attention and couldn't believe that he was getting out of his kennel. All he could do was sniff the ground and explore. He is finding out what a big world is it out here!  If he could talk he would be saying "Hey! What's this?!" over and over.

His training training is going well. He now knows how to heel, sit, auto-sit where he sits down when he you stop walking, he can down from your side and is learning to do that from when you're stand in front of him. He can also hold his position when you leave him and walk around. And he just gets better every day.

He is also very social. He loves all the other dogs at the ranch. One of his favorite activities is playing with his Second Chance buddy Bear. And for Bo, that is a new and wonderful experience. But he's not too sure about Ben the horse, he thinks Ben is just a big rude dog.

Bo loves everyone that comes to see him! From his expression in the picture he's saying "It doesn't get any better that this!" And he's right. Not bad after three years in a chicken coop, eh? He got his second chance.

*Bo has graduated and is off to his new home. But there are many good dogs out there just hoping for their second chance. If you are considering a partner please send Margaret an email or call us at (209) 223-3194.
