Mar. 1, 2006 - Gus Goes Home!

Special day, today! Gus won the lottery and left for a great home and a second chance at life. He was such a happy guy that we hoped he found a home with kids to keep him entertained. Things seemed to have a way of working out for him and sure enough he got just such a home. So, from being stuffed into the night box at the shelter to a very loving home, Gus is one lucky dog. Farewell, Gus. Don't forget what you're learned. Be good and maybe we'll get to see you in a group class.

Feb. 14, 2006 - Gus Arrives!

Our newest and biggest goof since Bear is here! His name is Gus and he comes to us from the Amador shelter.   He was dropped off in the night kennel at the shelter, so we don't know much about his background. What we do know is that he is a very happy one year old, soon to be neutered male cattle dog (Queensland)/Lab mix. He is full to brim with curiosity and treats everything as a new adventure. He also loves everybody and everything! He greets strangers with the gusto of a long lost friend and if another dog will play, he will go romp for as long as he can.

Training is something he also enjoys, but we think it is really that he gets to be out with us. As can be seen from the pictures below he knows how to heel, sit and is learning the down command. All the reward he needs are some kind words and pets. That means more to him that treats.

The learning is fun, but sometimes things need to move a little faster. Here he shows how athletic he is with a jump to say "Look at me!" He gets all four paws off the ground with no effort. He is also very strong.  He loves kids and would be in heaven in a home where he had is own kids to chase a ball and play with. He would get along with another dog. A fenced yard would be best to keep him safe. Being only a year old and with his love of people he would not do well as a backyard dog. But give him a home with lots of love and he will be a partner for life! That's all he wants, just a home and folks to love him.

Gus will be ready to by the end of this week (2/24/06). His neuter will be complete and he is current on all vaccinations. He is heartworm free and currently on preventative.

Looking for a buddy? Come out and meet Gus, you won't be disappointed! Please give us a call at (209) 223-3194 or drop us an email to info@twincedark9.com for more information or to setup a visit time.
