March 16, 2013 - Update

Well, we did not anticipate having Miss Holly very long but we did not think she would be off to her new home this fast.

She is a lucky girl who will have acreage to run and play on and a loving family to give her everything she will ever need. The best part is...she will be living just a few miles away from the ranch.

Hopefully Holly can come back for a group class once in awhile so we can see how she blossoms in her forever home.

Holly Arrives at Twin Cedar

Holly comes to us from the Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center. She looks like she is a pure bred Akita and the vets think she is about 3 years old.

She is a very sweet and loving girl that does not appear to have any bad habits other than having some barrier aggression. When certain dogs come up to her kennel she will bark and growl at them. Once she is told "NO" she will stop and calmly walk away from the other dog.

When she is out of her kennel she is very good. If a dog charges up to her and is pushy or they really gets in her
face, she will growl at them but has never taken it any
further than a growl. Holly loves to come out and practice
her obedience and in just two short lessons she has already mastered all of the basics!!

We have not had the chance to put Holly in one of our large runs with a roommate because our Calaveras girl is one of those "Pushy, get in your face" kind of dogs that Holly would not Like. Holly has been very playful on lead with the other dogs that are out and about while Holly is practicing her obedience.

Holly is such a pretty girl, we really do not anticipate having her here very long. She could probably fit into just about any lifestyle and be a happy girl.

As usual, we would like her to go to a home where she will be a part of the family and a nice big yard to keep her safe.
