Lucky is a happy camper with his new owner. Life is certainly good for this little guy that has lived up to his name!

Little Lucky arrived today! He is a little 4 month old lab mix puppy from the Calaveras Humane Society. Lucky is a very happy little guy that can't get enough of exploring and visiting the other dogs. He is very social and loves to play and jump around. In the pictures below, he's playing with Nacho.

We have only had him a day so he is still getting used to school and his new surroundings. His initial assessments have gone great and we plan to start his training next week. But so far, all we can say is that he is one of the happiest little guys we seen. He is also well behaved. He takes no for an answer and already is understanding that play biting is not allowed. He says "Fine, I won't bite, but let's keep playing!".

Well, little Lucky is turning out to be a real smart guy that loves school.  Already he knows how to heel and sit. He does this with such a happy attitude that it is hard not to laugh the whole time when working with him! He has started to learn to lie down when asked. Since he's a pup each new behavior is a new adventure. And, if approached that way during lessons he revels in the activity. When he figures out what is going on and does what is asked his expression is one of total delight. For him, it is all about being with people and learning how to fit in and be a good pack member. The training is providing him all the development and confidence he needs to grow.

Lucky is not only an appropriate name for him, but it will apply to whomever gets to adopt this little partner. His "each day is a new adventure" outlook rubs off and we all look forward to seeing what the next day's shenanigans are going to be!

*Lucky truly is, he has a wonderful new home where he'll get the love and attention he has earned.  If you would like more information about a Second Chance dog for your own, please send Margaret an email or call us at (209) 223-3194.
