December 31, 2011 - Update

Well, the last day of 2011 is Tessa's lucky day. She is off to her new home outside of Stockton, living on lots of property that is all dog fenced.

She will have a part time buddy Bogey who is a previous Second Chance Dog. They met out here at the ranch and yes, Bogey had to put Tessa in her place.

He is quite the gentleman and she had to figure out that he did not appreciate being boxed in the face, mounted, chewed on, jumped on etc...

Once she figured out the new rules they got along just fine. Her new owners said they will be back for some additional training so we get to look forward to seeing Miss Tessa in the future.

Tessa Arrives at Twin Cedar

This beautiful German Shepherd girl comes to us from the Amador County Animal Control & Adoption Center. She is 15 months old and TOTAL WILD CHILD does not even begin to describe her behavior when she first arrived.

Tessa spent the first year of her life running loose on a large piece of property with three other male dogs. Yes, she was very pregnant when she was rescued by the animal shelter!

Apparently Tessa had no rules to live by in her former life and she has every bad habit you can imagine! After Tessa had her puppies, weaned them and was spayed, she came out to Twin Cedar K9 to enroll her into doggy charm school!

Fortunately she does not have a mean bone in her body and she really wants to please her trainers. The challenging part is getting her on a leash and out of her kennel. This girl could give the best wrestler out there a run for their money!

Once she is on her leash she immediately turns into a very quiet and loving German Shepherd that wants to please whoever she is with. Tessa is coming along beautifully with her obedience and manners training and gets along well with other dogs. She is incredibly bossy with dogs but listens to them when they tell her to knock off her obnoxious behavior with them.

Tessa loves to play for hours at a time but she also has the ability to just hang out with the people or dogs that she is with.

It is unknown how Tessa would be with cats but we suspect she would probably chase them. Since Tessa was an outdoor dog it is also unknown if she is house broken or not. With most adult dogs that have never been in a house before they will prefer to do their business outside, so they are fairly easy to house train.

We would love to see Tessa go to a home where she can be a part of a family with a large fenced yard to keep her safe.

If that is you, please give us a call to come out to meet her. By the time she is ready to go to her new home, she will have very nice manners!! We guarantee that!!
