April 15th, 2010 - Update

April 15th may not be our favorite day but for little Pixie it is the happiest day of her young life!  She has been adopted and is off to her new home in Angel Camp.  She has a new buddy who is a registered therapy dog and a wonderful owner who will provide her with everything she will ever need in life.  Once Pixie grows up and matures, she will probably be trained to do therapy work as well.  Good luck Pixie and promise to be a good little girl.

Pixie Arrives at Twin Cedar

Little Miss Pixie comes to us from the Amador County Animal Control & Adoption Center.  Pixie is 1 year old and looks like she is a Schipperkee/Cattle Dog cross that looks like an oversized Schipperkee.

She is an active, very friendly and playful little dog.  She has beautiful focus when she is doing her obedience lessons and loves to snuggle with people.

Pixie has a very dominant personality with other dogs.  She likes to play but the other dog must be willing to let her be the boss.  She has done well in group classes with all of the other dogs that are in the class and has not shown any aggression.

Pixie has a beautiful focused heel, auto sit, down, stay and come. (On lead)  She waits at doorways and will sit and wait for her food.

Pixie is very athletic and would probably make a great agility dog. Pixie would do best in a home that has no other dogs or a home with a very tolerant non-dominant dog.

With time, training and proper socialization we think Pixie will do well with other dogs.  Pixie travels well in the car and would make a great companion or travel buddy.
