Jack!

Dec. 10, 2006

Mr Jack has been a trooper during his stay with us. He worked hard in school and enjoyed having a couple of roommates. Then Saturday, 12/9 came and it was his time to show off. The second Saturday of each month the Feedbarn hosts a pet adoption event where our Second Chance dogs get an opportunity to show themselves off. Jack greatly enjoyed the outing, but no one was ready to adopt him. Then, just as we were getting ready to leave, a couple came and fell in love with him. Now, he is in his new home, just in time for the holidays. Goodbye, Jack... We'll all miss you!

This is Mr. Jack! He is a very happy guy that is from the Amador shelter. He is very athletic and loves to play and be with people. He is a cross between a Border Collie, Lab with maybe a little Pit thrown in. But no matter what is there, he is one of the most handsome and affection guys we've had. He is neutered, current with all vaccinations and heartworm preventative.

During his stay at the shelter, he tried the patience of the staff with his jumping whenever someone would enter his kennel. All he wanted was attention and for people to stay with him, but he didn't know the proper way to ask for the company.

Since coming out to the Second Chance program, Jack he truly grown in the happiest dog in the house. He tackles everything with gusto, and can't wait for his training sessions. He morning tail wagging greeting for his trainer is a pleasure that starts each day off with a laugh.

Here we see Jack showing off his new obedience training. He knows how to heel, sit and down when asked. And he knows stay. Jack knows when he's doing it right, his expression lights up and he says "How about that?! Where's the praise?".

Did we say that he likes to play? He is always up for a romp around the yard. And, he will go as long as you're willing to stay with him! Jack would be perfect for a family with older kids that wanted a buddy to chase, wrestle and play ball with.

He would also do well in any sport that involved your participation. Being with people is what he is all about, so if you are up for something so is Jack. Just say the word and he's ready to go! Camping, hiking and just hanging out are what he dreams about.

Jack would not do well as a backyard dog. He needs human contact and to be part of the family to be happy.

And, under the heading of play and wrestling, these pictures are what happened during his photo session. Our favorite picture is Margaret and the dog together. But Jack had different ideas. He thought what a great time for quick play session!

If a happy handsome guy is what you are considering for you family, please come and meet Mr. Jack. Give us a call at (209) 223-3194 or email info@twincedark9.com. Jack is always looking to meet new friends, so he would be delighted to go for a walk with you!
