Penny

Our little girl, Penny, leaves for her new home. All she wanted was a loving home where she could be part of a family and have kids to play with. She has that now, so we say goodbye to one of our favorites. Good luck, Penny!

And a special thank you to Dr. Mary of Foothill Veterinary Clinic for saving her and giving Penny a second chance.

Here's our newest Second Chance resident! Her name is Penny, and she is one of the nicest dogs we've had. In fact, the one best word to describe Penny is nice. She just wants to be next to you and share affection.

She is not the usual resident in that she did not come from a shelter. She was found running stray along a busy road then abandoned at a local veterinary clinic. Dr. Mary kept her, but when no one came for her, she wanted to have Penny trained so she could find the perfect home. After we met Penny we decided to bring her into the program and have her stay with us at the ranch.

Our best guess is that Penny is a cross between a German Shepherd, Border Collie and a little Lab thrown in. She has the Border Collie desire to please and during training or walks she loves to be right next to you, and if you stop she will snuggle right in against your leg.  She is about a year, to a year and a half old. Penny is current on all vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She will be spayed before adoption.

Her most favorite thing is the world is kids! During a Saturday group class, all she wanted to do is be with a family their kids out to watch the class.  She also loves to play, chase a ball or toy, but she hasn't learned to bring it back yet. That's what the kids are for!

When Penny arrived, she had very low confidence and was very timid. But she wanted to be friends, she just was not sure how to behave. Clearly, she has had a rough past. But with training, lots of patience and love we are rewarded with a very happy little girl.

Penny is a very special little dog that will make a wonderful pet and partner for a family with little kids. She remains a little timid at first meeting, but warms up very quickly and if taken for a walk will become you best friend in a half hour.

We are going to be very selective of the home that Penny goes to. If you are looking for a special dog to join your family, please give us a call at (209) 223-3194 or email info@twincedark9.com. Adopting Penny is going to be a lifetime affair with all the rewards that go with such a commitment. Come and meet her, she would love to go for a walk and show off her training... But be careful because she will capture your heart for sure!
